A RESOLUTION APPROVING A WORK ORDER FOR FISH POINT ROAD PHASE 3
INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS (CP 2023-03)
Motion By: Braid Second By: Burkart
WHEREAS, the Fish Point Road Phase 2 Reconstruction Project includes a full
reconstruction of Fish Point Road from 160th Street SE to Hwy 13, including
improvements to all water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer facilities in the
project area; and
WHEREAS, MnDOT supports the replacement of the signal system at TH13 in conjunction
with Phase 2 and will provide their share of funding by July 2026 or sooner;
and
WHEREAS, WSB & Associates, Inc. (WSB), a member of the City’s consultant pool, has
provided a proposal in the amount of $101,932 for the professional
engineering services for the Phase 3 intersection improvements enumerated
in the report; and
WHEREAS, Staff has reveiwed the proposal and determined the proposed engineering
costs fall within the normal and expected range for such a project, and
therefore recommends executing a Work Order in the amount of $101,932 for
engineering services for Fish Point Road Phase 3 Intersection Improvements.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PRIOR LAKE,
MINNESOTA as follows:
1. The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein.
2. The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized to execute a Work Order with WSB &
Associates, Inc. in the amount of $101,932 for the engineering services required for Fish Point
Road Phase 3 Intersection Improvements (CP 2023-03).
3. The Council authorizes the use of Construction Fund fund balance and/or an interfund loan
from the Water Fund, as determined by the Finance Director, to cover the MnDOT portion of
the project until reimbursement is received from the State in July 2026. The authorized
amount is $250,000. The repayment source for the interfund loan will be reimbursement from
MnDot in July 2026.
Passed and adopted by the Prior Lake City Council this 21st day of November 2022.
