HIGH QUALITY PARKS & TRAILS
3. Identify funding scenarios for parks and trails by 2024.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve a resolution awarding the contract for Memorial Park ballfield netting improvements.
BACKGROUND:
Memorial Park is utilized by the Prior Lake High School baseball team, as well as the Prior Lake
Amateur Baseball Association to host home games in the spring, summer and fall months. A
netting system will be installed along the outfield fence from the left field foul line toward center
field to prevent home run balls from leaving the park and going into neighboring private yards.
This netting system will replace the previously failed system that was removed several years ago.
Two quotes were received for this project. The low quote was submitted by Keeper Systems to
design and install the netting system. The project was originally proposed in 2021, however due
to vendor availability and time constraints, the work has been delayed until spring 2023.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The 2021 Capital Park Fund included $90,000 for the netting system project. Keeper systems
has quoted $48,625 to complete the project in 2023.
ALTERNATIVES:
1.Motion and second to approve a resolution awarding the contract for Memorial Park
ballfield netting improvements.
