RESOLUTION 24-002 A RESOLUTION RECEIVING QUOTES AND AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE 2023-2024 POND MAINTENANCE PROJECT (CP 2023-18) Motion By: BRAID Second By: CHURCHILL
WHEREAS, the city’s Local Surface Water Management Plan includes stormwater pond maintenance as a critical aspect of the overall stormwater implementation plan; and WHEREAS, stormwater ponds are designed to accumulate sediment and other pollutants and should have a design life of 50 years or more if properly maintained; and WHEREAS, City staff has worked with WSB & Associates, Inc. (WSB) to develop a Stormwater Asset Management Program (SWAMP) to help prioritize projects and optimize the allocation of City funds; and,
WHEREAS, Pond 233 on the southwest corner of Fish Point Road and CR44 has been identified in the SWAMP for maintenance in 2024; and, WHEREAS, WSB solicited four quotes for the project and received two quotes back, with Kusske Construction Company LLC providing the low quote in the amount of $198,480; and
WHEREAS, WSB has provided a letter of recommendation to award the contract to Kusske Construction Company LLC. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PRIOR LAKE, MINNESOTA as follows:
1. The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein. 2. The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized to execute a contract with Kusske Construction Company LLC in the amount of $194,480 for the 2023-2024 Pond Maintenance Project (CP 2023-18). 3. The Water Quality Fund includes $200,000 for this project. Passed and adopted by the Prior Lake City Council this 9th day of January 2024.
