RESOLUTION 24-003 A RESOLUTION APPROVING A WORK ORDER WITH WSB & ASSOCIATES, INC. FOR PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES (INTERIM ASSISTANT CITY ENGINEER) Motion By: BRAID Second By: CHURCHILL
WHEREAS, the City conducted an external recruitment in 2023 for the vacant Assistant City Engineer position; and WHEREAS, due to a number of other cities also recruiting for and filling Assistant City Engineer positions earlier in 2023, the City has been unable to fill this position; and WHEREAS, On August 7, 2023 the City Council approved a work order with WSB & Associates, Inc. (WSB) to provide professional engineering services for an Interim Assistant City Engineer to temporarily fill this position; and
WHEREAS, WSB & Associates, Inc., a member of the City’s engineering consultant pool, has submitted a proposal to continue to fulfill this same role though June 2024; and
WHEREAS, the $50,760 cost for this work order will be funded through personnel cost savings within the Assistant City Engineer position.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PRIOR LAKE, MINNESOTA as follows: 1. The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein. 2. The City Council approves a work order with WSB & Associates, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $50,760 for professional engineering services to fulfill the role of Interim Assistant City Engineer. 3. The cost of this work order will be funded by personnel cost savings within the Assistant City Engineer position. Passed and adopted by the Prior Lake City Council this 9th day of January 2024.
