Individual Park Recommendations
11
PriorLakeMN.gov
•Prioritize improvements, development
and redevelopment of community
parks that serve the greater needs of
the community and can generate
revenue to be reinvested into the
parks.
12
Park & Trail System Recommendations
PriorLakeMN.gov
•Prioritize the improvement of one key park within
each neighborhood service area, based on varying
criteria such as suitable amenities, recreational
programming, and service areas having 300 or more
children within a 1/2 mile radius.
•Reduce redundancies in the system by providing
unique, complementary, and meaningful park
experiences.
•Identify lower priority parks that would have
existing development phased out as amenities
reach the end of their useful age and as key
neighborhood parks within the same service areas
are improved to ensure each of the service areas
have quality outdoor recreation opportunities.
13
Park & Trail System Recommendations
PriorLakeMN.gov
•Add parks as development or redevelopment
continues.
15
Park & Trail System Recommendations
PriorLakeMN.gov
•Prioritize filling in major gaps in the system to
allow for greater connectivity and safe pedestrian
travel to primary destinations within the city and to
regional connections.
•Following primary trail gaps, prioritize the
improvement of existing trails over the
development of new trails to be based upon the
pavement ratings.
•Prioritize funding of trail improvements and
developments.
•Seek funding and partnership opportunities to
implement the trail improvements and
developments.
