HomeMy WebLinkAbout5A - Cove Variance PC report 4646 Dakota Street SE Prior Lake, MN 55372 PLANNING COMMISSION AGENDA REPORT MEETING DATE: August 12, 2024 AGENDA #: 5A PREPARED BY: PRESENTED BY: PAUL MORETTO, PLANNER PAUL MORETTO AGENDA ITEM: Continuation of Previously Tabled Request for a Variance from the Minimum Lake Setback on a Property Located at 14758 Cove Avenue SE DISCUSSION: Introduction On July 8th, 2024, the Board of Adjustment held a public hearing to consider a request from Highmark Builders for a shoreland setback variance for the purpose of construct- ing a pool at 14756 Cove Avenue SE. At that meeting, the Board of Adjustment voted to table the item so that staff and the applicant could work through the plan and find alternatives. Staff and the applicant have been working toward an alternative that would improve the site while meeting the needs of the applicant. At this time, the applicant requires more time to work through the details. Staff requests that the Board of Adjustment continue the table item until the next meet- ing so that staff and the applicant can find a reasonable solution. ALTERNATIVES: 1. Motion and second to continue the tabled variance request at 14758 Cove Avenue SE to the next regular meeting of the Board of Adjustment. RECOMMENDED MOTIONS: Alternative No. 1
