Presentation
BACKGROUND:
Each year the Police Department solicits nominations for team members who have shown a
consistent and impactful contribution to the mission and work of the department and city above
and beyond the normal course of duties. The nominees are reviewed by a selection committee
who proposes one sworn and one civilian to be considered and finalized by the Chief of Police for
Officer of the Year and Support Services Civilian of the Year. This year, Officer Amanda Ley was
selected as Officer of the Year and Heidi Burton as Support Services Civilian of the Year.
