AGENDA ITEM: Approval of a New Massage Therapy License for Eileen Mumford
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve a new Massage Therapy License for Eileen Mumford.
BACKGROUND:
Massage therapists are required to be licensed in the City of Prior Lake if they are not working
directly under a state licensed practitioner such as a physical therapist or a chiropractor. The Prior
Lake Police Department has completed its investigation of this applicant to ensure that all issues
concerning public safety and compliance have been met.
Eileen Mumford (18519 Orchard Trail Lakeville, MN 55044) has applied for a massage therapy
license in order to practice massage therapy in Prior Lake.
She is anticipated to practice at 15875 Franklin Trail SE unit 108. Prior Lake. Eileen has provided
the city with the required proof of education and training. Massage therapy licenses are issued on
a calendar year basis, which would make this license valid until December 31, 2026, at which
time it would be subject to renewal along with all other licensed massage therapists in Prior Lake.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Eileen has paid the $200.00 investigation fee and the $200.00 annual license fee.
ALTERNATIVES:
1. Motion and second as part of the consent agenda to approve a new Massage Therapy
License for Eileen Mumford.
2. Motion and second to remove this item from the consent agenda for additional
discussion.
