RESOLUTION 26-096 A RESOLUTION RECEIVING QUOTES AND AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR SCADA FIBER INSTALLATION Motion By: Braid Second By: Hellier
WHEREAS, the CIP includes $500,000 per year from 2025 - 2029 for SCADA upgrades at all of the City’s wells, lift stations, water storage towers, and the treatment plant; and
WHEREAS, one of the critical steps to updating our SCADA infrastructure is to get fiber connections to each location; and WHEREAS, the city is part of the Scott County fiber network and is therefore required to use the vendor designated by the County, Electrical Production Services (EPS), for any expansion of the network; and WHEREAS, staff solicted quotes from EPS to install fiber at three locations – the north water tower, the south water tower, and the Summit booster station. Location Quote North Tower $24,755
South Tower $13,328
Summit Booster Station $24,326
Total $62,409
and WHEREAS, staff recommend awarding a contract to EPS in the amount of $62,409
WHEREAS, funding is available in the 2026 CIP to cover this expenditure (604-49450.00-55580.00). NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PRIOR LAKE, MINNESOTA as follows: 1. The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein. 2. The City Council authorizes a contract with Electrical Production Services in the amount of $62,409 for SCADA fiber installation. 3. Funding will come from the 2026 CIP (604-49450.00-55580.00).
