AGENDA ITEM: Resolution Receiving Quotes and Awarding a Contract for Facility
Assessments
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt a resolution receiving quotes and awarding a contract for facility assessments at all city
buildings.
BACKGROUND:
As part of the routine operation and maintenance of city facilities, staff recommend having a
facility assessment completed on all city buildings to better facilitate short-term and long-term
maintenance planning and budgeting. Staff solicited quotes to complete assessments on the
following buildings:
• City Hall
• Police Station
• Fire Stations 1 and 2
• Maintenance Center
• Water treatment plant
• Well houses and booster stations
• Lakefront Pavilion
• Concession buildings at Ryan and Ponds parks
The following quotes were received:
Company Quote
Siemens $23,273.25
McKinstry $72,250.00
Staff recommend Council award a contract to Siemens in the amount of $23,273.25 to complete
the facility assessments on the buildings listed above.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The 2026 Facilities Management CIP contains adequate funding for this contract in fund 440-
41940.00-55520.00.
ALTERNATIVES:
1. Motion and second as part of the consent agenda to adopt a resolution receiving quotes
and awarding a contract for facility assessments at all city buildings.
2. Motion and second to remove this item from the consent agenda for further discussion.

A RESOLUTION RECEIVING QUOTES AND AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR FACILITY
ASSESSMENTS AT ALL CITY BUILDINGS
Motion By: Second By:
WHEREAS, having in-depth assessments of all city buildings will facilitate short-term and long-
term maintenance planning and budgeting; and
WHEREAS, Staff solicited quotes to complete assessments on the following buildings:
City Hall
Police Station
Fire Stations 1 and 2
Maintenance Center
Water treatment plant
Well houses and booster stations
Lakefront Pavilion
Concession buildings at Ryan and Ponds parks
and
WHEREAS, the following quotes were received:
Company Quote
Siemens $23,273.25
McKinstry $72,250.00
and
WHEREAS, staff recommend Council award a contract to Siemens in the amount of
$23,273.25; and
WHEREAS,
the 2026 Facilities Management CIP contains adequate funding in fund 440-
44194.00-55520.00 to complete the facility assessments on the buildings
listed above.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PRIOR LAKE,
MINNESOTA as follows:
1. The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein.
2. The City Council hereby authorizes the execution of a contract with Siemens in the amount of
$23,273.25 for the facility assessments.
3. Funding for this project shall come from the 2026 Facilities Management CIP fund 440-
441940.00-55520.00
