RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt a resolution approving a temporary liquor license for Boathouse Brothers Brewing Co. on
October 3, 2026.
BACKGROUND:
Boathouse Brothers Brewing is hosting a Heartoberfest Event, on October 3, 2026.
State statute allows a brewer who manufactures fewer than 3,500 barrels of malt liquor in a year
or a micro-distillery a temporary license for the on-sale of intoxicating liquor in connection with a
social event within the municipality sponsored by the brewer or micro-distillery. Temporary
licenses may be issued for up to four consecutive days.
The Police Department has reviewed the temporary liquor license application to ensure that all
requirements and issues concerning liquor compliance and public safety have been met.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Boathouse Brothers Brewing has paid the $75.00 temporary on-sale intoxicating liquor license
fee.
ALTERNATIVES:
1. Motion and second as part of the consent agenda to adopt a resolution approving a
Temporary Liquor License for Boathouse Brothers Brewing on October 3, 2026.
2. Motion and second to remove this item from the consent agenda for additional
discussion.

A RESOLUTION APPROVING A TEMPORARY ON-SALE INTOXICATING LIQUOR
LICENSE FOR BOATHOUSE BROTHERS BREWING, CO
Motion By: Second By:
WHEREAS, Boathouse Brothers Brewing, Co., will sponsor their annual Heartober fundraising event

on Main Ave on Saturday, October 3, 2026; and
WHEREAS, State statute allows brewers who manufacture less than 3,500 barrels of malt liquor in a
year to apply for temporary on-sale intoxicating liquor license in connection with a social
event within the municipality sponsored by the brewer; and
WHEREAS, Boathouse Brother Brewing, Co. is planning to sponsor and sell beer as part of this
social event.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PRIOR LAKE,
MINNESOTA as follows: The temporary liquor license as outlined above for Boathouse Brothers Brewing
will be approved per the recitals set forth above are incorporated herein, service and consumption of
alcohol is limited to a fenced in area, and proof of liquor liability insurance as prescribed by M.S. Section
340A.409 to cover this event has been received.
