RESOLUTION 26-132 A RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF A HIGH SERVICE PUMP AT THE WATER TREATMENT PLANT Motion By: Braid Second By: Churchill
WHEREAS, the Prior Lake water treatment plant has three (3) high service pumps to distribute treated water throughout the city’s water supply system; and WHEREAS, on August 27, 2026, one of the pumps failed and has been offline ever since; and WHEREAS, the system requires redundancy for critical equipment and cannot function effectively and efficiently with only two pumps; and WHEREAS, the following quotes for an emergency pump replacement were solicited and received by staff:

Keys Well Drilling $43,485
Traut Companies $48,780 Bergerson-Caswell, Inc. $52,297 and WHEREAS, sufficient funds are available in the Water Utility Fund for this emergency repair.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PRIOR LAKE, MINNESOTA as follows:
1. The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein. 2. The City Council ratifies the emergency purchase and installation of a high service pump at the water treatment plant, at a cost of $43,485. 3. The cost of the work shall be paid from the Water Utility Fund (601-49400.00-54010.63).
