Introduction The purpose of this agenda item is to receive authorization for Change Order #4 for the police station/city hall construction project. Historv Modifications to the original construction contract are made for various reasons throughout the project. Change order #1 authorized $125,000.00 for sales tax; thereby increasing the total construction contract sum to $11,282,800.00. The modifications approved by change order #2 resulted in a reduction to that number of $34,088.00, bring the total contract sum at that time down to $11,248,712.00. And finally, the twenty-one changes authorized by change order #3 in June increased the construction contract sum by $12,582.00; for a total of $11,261,294.00. Current Circumstances A copy of the change order showing an itemized listing of the modifications is attached to the agenda report. This change order consists of seventeen (17) changes, thirteen (13) of which are increases and four (4) reductions to previous plans. Taken together the seventeen (17) modifications result in a $23,055.00 increase to the total construction contract, bringing that contract total to $11,284,349.00. 1) Approve Change Order #4. 2) Deny approval and direct staff to prepare additional information. The approved coste; have been reviewed and represent a fair value for the work performed. Item Descriution PR #33 Steel angles were added at roof deck edges at City Hall PR #34 Two flush floor box receptacle!) were added to the Council Chambers for the spectator seating area. An additional 3" conduit stub out of the Police was added fot' Integra. Six-inch drain tile near the entry of City Hall can be eliminated because there is drain tile below at the basement footing. This resulted in a credit. PR #35 PR #36R The coiling door jambs at the transaction counters in City Hall have been framed with steel studs in lieu of tube steel columns, resulting in a credit. There were changes made to City Hall offices, resulting in changes to the location oftackwal1. Revisions to soffit in the Police Lunch room, due to mechanical equipment layout, resulted in a cost. PR #37 PR #38 PR #40 Clarifications to the framing at the City Hall cllrtainwal1 resulted in a cost. PR #45 Conference room C204 and office C209 swapped locations, resulting in a cost PR #47 Six-inch drain tile at Police can be eliminated because there is drain tile below at the basement footmg. SI #113R Sprinkler changes in the Police Lunch Room $199 ceiling resulteo in a cost. S1 #136 Door hardware changes resulted in a cost. $ 6,105 SI #139R There was a cost for added gyp. board and $ 4,803 cau11cing to obtaln a I-hour flre rating in Police. SI #142 Clarifications to the soffits in the open office $ 2,556 area at Police resulted in a cost. Total $ 23,055 Upon approval by City Council, we will issue Change Order #4 for the project.
