Mayor Haugen and Members of the City Council,
I am writing to withdraw my family's proposal to operate a Northwoods League baseball franchise at Memorial
Park in Prior Lake.
As Mayor Haugen and I have discussed over the past week, parking continues to be a major obstacle and we do
not see a satisfactory resolution. While the City staff did its best to develop a reasonable plan, there remains a
dependency on utilization of school district parking lots. Since the school board controls those lots and would not
be a party to our lease, there is no guarantee that we could continue to use them during the entire term of the
lease. Therefore, my family and I believe that it is time to drop this effort and move on.
My family and I are grateful to Mayor Haugen, Prior Lake baseball fans, and the many groups In Prior Lake who
embraced this proposal. and especially to the excellent city government staff that worked so hard to develop a
workable plan. We also want to compliment the City Council members for their openness and the extensive public
process which was used.
I regret that unless another location becomes available which does not have such parking issues, we will not be
able to bring to the community an enterprise that would create a lot of excitement and pleasure for many
thousands of fans and their families. But we have enjoyed the opportunity to meet many fine people in your lovely
com munity, and our family Wishes the very best to you, the City Counci I and everyone in Prior Lake.
Si?~
