The purpose of this agenda item is to review the status of
various directives the City Council has made to the staff to
accomplish certain work during 1997.
In an effort to assure that Council concerns are addressed,
the staff maintains a list of "Directives". The directives are
organized on an annual basis. During the course of 1997,
the City Council referred sixty three directives to the staff
for completion. Of those, a total of forty six were
completed, three are ongoing, and fourteen are in progress
and incomplete at this time. For those that are incomplete,
we have provided an estimated date of completion.
If the Council has questions on the staff interpretation of a
directive or its present status, the January 5th meeting
would be an appropriate time for such a discussion.
Adopt 1997 Directives as presented.
Amend Directives as desired and adopt amended
Directives.
RECOMMENDATION: Either alternative 1 or 2.
ACTION REQUIRED: Motion and Second by the City Council to approve the
Directive list either as presented or amended.

conduct a Town Meeting.
Contact Timothy Avenue Neighbors including Natalie

Check the status of occupancy at the Burdick Building
Prepare a resolution overturning the Planning
Commission action with respect to the Brian Mattson

Draft a letter to the Legislature outlining reasons why
Prior Lake should be exempted from certain flood plain
proVIsIOns.
Explore with School District alternative means to
increase crosswalk safety for kids at the crosswalk
between Hidden Oaks and High School, cost to be
equally shared.
Notify residents of Timothy Avenue and also area
businesses who present a written request to the City
Manager of when CIP will come before Council.
Complete and turn in City Manager Evaluations to
evaluation committee by December 8.
Obtain copy of Cambridge Report from State Auditor's
Office
Ask LMC/AMM to determine if they have a policy
which addresses payment of Special Assessments by
state/federal government (DNR, Post Office).
