STAFF AGENDA REPORT DATE: AGENDA #: PREPARED BY: AGENDA ITEM: OCTOBER 19, 1998 5N LANOL LEICHTY, WATER RESOURCES COORDINATOR CONSIDER APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION 98-XX ACCEPTING QUOTE FOR CATES STREET CHANNEL STABILIZATION PROJECT 98-11. DISCUSSION: HISTORY This project is in the 1998 Capital Improvement Program as part of the Water Resources budget. Its' purpose is to reduc~ the sediment load entering Prior Lake and stabilize the banks of the channels that are experiencing erosion. At the May 18, 1998 City Council meeting the Council authorized WSB & Associates, Inc. to provide design services for the Cates Street Channel Stabilization project. The design has been completed and quotes from contractors have been obtained. CURRENT CIRCUMSTANCES Right-of-entry forms will be used to gain access to those areas where the City does not have easements over the construction limits. There are five property owners that will be affected by the Cates Street channel project. A meeting was initiated with the property owners identifying the project scope of work. ISSUES This project will take place in finished back yards. It is therefore very important to establish and maintain a good working relationship from the start between affected residents, the city and contractor. It is also important to have a contractor who is sensitive to such issues and has experience with such projects. 162~~Creek Ave. S.E., Prior Lake, Minnesota 55372-1714 / Ph.
