Cu"entCucumsmnces
Mary Hauger of 236 Bumsville Circle, Bumsville MN 55306 is
applying for a personal services license, as permitted in the City of
Prior Lake Code, to engage in a massage therapy business. The City
Code Section 303.300 requires that a personal services license be
issued by the City Council in order for an individual to perform
massage therapy in the city. This license would be valid until
December 31, 2003. Ms. Hauger is planning to perform massage
therapy at Eagle Creek Chiropractic.
The Issues
The Prior Lake Police Department has investigated Ms. Hauger
persuant to the information required on the application and has found
no reason to deny the application. Ms. Hauger has paid the $100.00
investigation fee and the $250.00 application fee. She has provided
the city with proof of completion of massage therapy schooling as
required by the City's massage therapy ordinance.
The City Council has the following alternatives:
1. Adopt a motion as part of the consent agenda approving the
massage therapy license request for Mary Hauger.
2. Deny the massage therapy license request.
Staff recommends Council approve the massage therapy license for
Mary Hauger.
