PRESENTATION: STATUS REPORT ON LIBRARY,
LAKE FRONT PARK, NEIGHBORHOOD PARK AND
COMMUNITY PARK/ATHLETIC COMPLEX PROJECTS.
Historv
The Park and Library Referendum was approved in 1997. The
referendum included funding for:
1. Construction of a new Library and Resource center.
2. Construction of Lakefront Park.
3. Acquisition and Construction of a Community Park and
Athletic Complex
4. Reconstruction of Various Neighborhood Parks.
CurrentCucumsffinces
Each ofthese projects is under way. I have asked Park and Recreation
Director Paul Hokeness to provide periodic status reports to keep the
Council apprised of the status of each.
Issues
Following Mr. Hokeness' brief presentation, Councilmembers should
identify and discuss any issues they have of concern with regard .to
each project. The purpose ofthis agenda item is to keep the Council up
to date on the progress of each project.
Conclusion
The Council should hear Parks and Recreation Director Hokeness'
presentation and ask questions for clarification.
