BILL MANGAN, DIRECTOR OF PARKS AND RECREATION
CONSIDER APPROVAL OF CAPITAL EXPENDITURE FOR
RECREATION DEPARTMENT
JULY 16, 1990
Maureen Jandorf had been our Dance Instructor
for the past 9 years and she has recently
resigned in anticipation of a family move to
the East Coast. As the Dance
Instructor, Maureen always used her own stereo
system for the different numbers of the
pro9ram. When she left, obviously her
equ1pment went with her.
There is a definite need for a stereo system
to continue our dance program. Staff has
researched the kind of system necessary for
this large of a program and has decided on the
Megastar Stereo Srstem with Dual Cassettes.
The cost of this 1tem is $700. This is not a
budgeted capital item which means to acquire
it will require an expenditure from the 1990
Contingency Fund.
This item will cost $700 and it is not a
budgeted item. There was no reason to budget
the item because there was no indication that
Maureen was leaving. There has been $9,500
expended from the Contingency Fund leaving a
current balance of $90,500.
Staff would recommend approval of
the 1990 Contingency Fund for the
purchasing a stereo system for the
Department's Dance Program.
A motion as part of the consent agenda to
approve the $700 expenditure from the 1990
Contingency Fund for the purpose of
purchasing a stereo system for the Recreation
Department is in order.
