KAY SCHMUDLACH, ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER
PRESENT CENTENNIAL COMMITTEE PROGRESS
REPORT AND LAKE FRONT DAYS RESULTS
SEPTEMBER 4, 1990
The Centennial Committee was created by the
City Council on November 7, 1988. Since its
organizational meeting on January 30, 1989,
the committee has made significant l?rogress on
providing an excellent array of actl.vities to
celebrate our community'S looth birthday.
This agenda item has been prepared to update
the city Council on the committee's progress
and to report the financial status of the
committee's fund raising efforts.
The Centennial Committee set out to plan and
implement community activities to celebrate
the Centennial. Through the great
participation of over 25 residents, the
committee processed many proposed activities.
The activities, although not definite, have
been grouped into four seasonal events.
Subcommittees were formed to plan for each of
the four events.
In addition to the preparations for the 1991
activities, the Centennial Committee has spent
a great deal of time trying to raise funds to
support the proposed 1991 activities. The
goal of the committee is to raise $10,000 in
order to provide most, if not all, of the 1991
activities free of charge.
The events and activities planned are
described in the brochure recently printed for
Centennial promotion (see attached).
Highlights of the activities include a Senior
citizen Coronation in February, an all class
