HomeMy WebLinkAbout5 - Ordinance 90-06 amending Ord. 83-06 AGENDA NUMBER: PREPARED BY: SUBJECT: DATE: INTRODUCTION: BACKGROUND: ALTERNATIVES: RECOMMENDATION: ACTION REQUIRED: HERITAGE 1891 COMMUNITY 1991 Q8JSf))v" 2C{!}1 5 DEB GARROSS, ASSISTANT CITY PLANNER FIRST CONSIDERATION OF ORDINANCE 90-06 AMENDING ORDINANCE 83-06 AND PRIOR LAKE CITY CODE TITLE 5, CHAPTER 6 NOVEMBER 19, 1990 The purpose of this item is to consider an amendment to Prior Lake Zoning Ordinance 83-6 Section 7.5, Conditional Uses and Section 5-6-5 of the Prior Lake City Code. The Planning Commission held a public hearing on November 1, 1990 to consider proposed Ordinance 90-06 which would require that a conditional use applicant be responsible to file a yearly statement of compliance with the Prior Lake Planning Department. It was the recommendation of the Planning Commission that attached Ordinance 90-06 be approved as submitted. See attached Planning commission minutes dated November 1, 1990. The amendment to the conditional use section of the Zoning Ordinance and City Code was proposed by staff to assist in administration and status checks of conditionai use permits that are issued by the City Council. The purpose of the amendment is to enhance the City's ability to monitor conditional uses over an extended period of time. At this time staff is responsible for monitoring compliance and doing the investigative work. The proposed amendment would shift the responsibility to the conditional use holder. Any unknown or questionable items in the annual report would result in further investigation by staff. This amendment will reduce the time and expense that is involved in monitoring the status of conditional use permits. 1. 2. 3. Approve Ordinance 90-6 as proposed.
