ANDERSON, DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS CONSIDER APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION 90-23 RESTRICTING PARKING ON TOWER STREET AND TORONTO AVENUE JUNE 4, 1990 The purpose of this agenda item is to pass a resolution restricting parking on Tower Street and Toronto Avenue for Project 90-12. Staff is preparing final plans for submittal to MnDOT for approval for Project 90-12 Tower Street and Toronto Avenue. The proposed street widths are 32 feet wide. Based upon MnDOT standards No Parking will be allowed on the portion designated as MSA. This is the ring road portion only and not the extension of Toronto Avenue between the Hollywood Inn and Priordale Mall. A No Parking Resolution is required to be submitted along with the plans and specifications. Approval of the resolution is requested so that plan review can proceed. Staff anticipated that final plans and specifications will be submitted to the City Council on June 18, 1990. A copy of Resolution 90-23 is attached. The recommendation is to approve Resolution 90-23. The alternatives are as follows: 1. Approve Resolution #90-23 as submitted. 2. Table this item for a specific reason. 3. (612) 447-4230 / Fax (612) 447-4245 HERITAGE 1891 COMMUNITY 1991 rgJ.5?Yjl~ 2{(91 RESOLUTION 90-23 RESOLUTION RELATING TO PARKING RESTRICTIONS ON S.A.P. 201-113-01 FROM 0.03 MILES WEST OF DULUTH AVENUE TO 0.11 MILES NORTH OF TORONTO AVENUE IN THE CITY OF PRIOR LAKE MINNESOTA. MOTIONED BY SECONDED BY WHEREAS, the "City" has planned the improvement of MSAS 113 (Tower Street and Toronto Avenue) from 0.03 miles west of Duluth Avenue to 0.11 miles north of Toronto Avenue WHEREAS, the "City" will be expending Municipal Street Aid Funds on the improvement of this Street, and WHEREAS, this improvement does not provide adequate width for parking on both sides of the street; and approval of the proposed construction as a Municipal State Aid Street project must therefore be conditioned upon certain parking restrictions.
