CONSIDER APPROVAL OF SALE OF CITY VEHICLE
JANUARY 4, 1993
The City advertised for public sale of a 1988
Chevrolet Caprice. Originally the vehicle was
placed into service as a ~olice squad car.
Since then it has been reta~ned for use by the
Engineering Department for purposes of field
inspection. The vehicle currently has in
excess of 87,000 miles and is scheduled to be
replaced in early Spring when replacement
squads are ordered.
Sealed bids were solicited for the disposition
of this vehicle as authorized by City Code.
Staff is requesting Council approval of the
highest price offer.
The City opened bids at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday
morning December 15, 1992. The following bids
were received:

Bid submission was accompanied by a certified
check in the full amount offered.
Staff would recommend awarding the sale of the
1988 ca~rice to Woodside Motors as the highest
bidder 1n the amount of $1,627.00.
The bid submitted was similar to past sales by
the City for comparable model years, mileage
consideration and condition of the individual
vehicles.
Motion to approve the sale of the 1988 Caprice
to Woodside Motors as part of the consent
agenda would be in order.
