BACKGROUND:
The city of Prior Lake contracted with Kelly
Construction Company of LeCenter, Minnesota
for the construction of concrete sidewalk and
appurtenant work along Fish Point Road from
Huron Street to Glory Circle.
The purpose of this Agenda item is to receive
Council approval of the final payment on this
project.
Kelly Construction Co. entered into a contract
with the City on August 20, 1990. The
engineering consultant firm of Toltz, King,
Duvall, Anderson & Associates (TKDA) prepared
the plans and specifications, and performed
the contract administration on the project and
has certified that the work has been completed
according to the specifications.
The Contractor has signed the final estimate
and submitted the following documents
necessary for final payment:
1. Consent of Surety to Final Payment
2. Affidavits for Obtaining Final Settlement
of Contract with the State of Minnesota
and an~ of Its Political or Governmental
SubdivJ.sions.
3. Lien Waivers
INTRODUCTION
The contract bid amount for the project was
$58,518.62 with the final contract amount to
complete the project is $62,695.57. The final
project cost was $4,176.95 over the contract
bid amount. The final payment due to the
Contractor is $3,134.78. The final payment
voucher has been included with the invoices
for Council approval for February 15, 1993.

WHEREAS, the City of Prior Lake is a strong supporter of
volunteerismi and
WHEREAS, the City of Prior Lake has benefitted immeasurably by
the time and talent dedicated by local residentsi and
WHEREAS, the City of Prior Lake wishes to participate in
Volunteers of America Week in order to show appreciation
and support for our volunteers.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF
PRIOR LAKE, MINNESOTA, that the City of Prior Lake recognizes
March 7 - 14, 1993 as Volunteers of America Week and encourage
all residents to continue their commitment to the community by

The Volunteers of America has been serving others for 97 years. Volunteers of America Week,
March 7-14, commemorates the founding of our organization on March 8, 1896.
We are one of Minnesota's largest human service organizations. Year after year, more than 90%
of every dollar we receive, we spend directly on program servlces...for the people we serve.
Through the years, Volunteers of America has demonstrated It Is a dynamic organization keeping
pace with the everchanglng world around It. Now more than ever, we recognize the constant need
for developing new and more creative ways In solving problems, meeting community needs, and
Improving the overall quality of life for all members of our society. We must continue forming
partnerships, bridging the gap between human needs and the resources of the public and private
sector.
I hope you will recognize March 7-14, 1993 as Volunteers of America Week and ask that you Join
us In celebrating our 97th year of service. Your personal letter acknowledging our service to
people in the Prior Lake community will be appreciated.
