CONSIDER APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 2007-2008
LIQUOR LICENSE RENEWALS
The Prior Lake City Code provides that the City Council must approve the
renewal of On-Sale Intoxicating, Sunday Liquor, Off-Sale Intoxicating, Off-Sale
3.2 Malt Liquor, On-Sale Intoxicating, and Club Licenses. All of the licenses
expire on June 30 of each year. Attached is a list of the establishments
requesting renewal of their liquor licenses.
The Prior Lake Police Department has completed a background check for
each of the licensees and has reported no violations of selling alcohol to
minors in the past year. All applicants have provided the City with renewal
applications, fees and proof of liquor liability insurance.
Prior Lake City Ordinance 301.600 states that no license shall be granted for
operation on any premises for which taxes, assessments or other financial
claims of the city are delinquent or unpaid. The Scott County Treasurer's
records show that all property taxes are current for all applicants.
The City Council has the following alternatives:
1. Adopt a resolution as part of the consent agenda approving the renewal of
the liquor licenses listed on Exhibit A for 2007- 2008.
2. Remove this item from the consent agenda for further discussion.
3. Deny the renewals.
Staff recommends Council approve the 2007-2008 liquor license renewals.

A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE LIQUOR LICENSE RENEWALS FOR 2007 - 2008

WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes Chapter 340A authorizes the City to issue on and off sale liquor
and 3.2 licenses, Sunday licenses, and club licenses, and
WHEREAS, Prior Lake City Code sets forth the application process for such licenses, and
WHEREAS, Applicants have submitted liquor license applications as set forth in Exhibit A, and
WHEREAS, Each of the liquor licenses has been investigated and approved by the Prior Lake
Police Department, and
WHEREAS, Pursuant to the Prior Lake City Code section 301.600, "no license shall be granted for
operation on any premises on which taxes, assessments or other financial claims of
the City are delinquent or unpaid.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PRIOR LAKE,
MINNESOTA as follows:
1. The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein
2. Exhibit A referenced above are incorporated herein if fully set forth,
3. The liquor licenses for the premises set forth in Exhibit A are hereby approved for the period July
1, 2007 to June 30, 2008 and,
4. All premises shall comply with Prior Lake City Code 301.600 no later than June 30, 2007 to be
eligible for licensure.
