DATE:
On Sunday morning, April 14, I received
Erickson of our Police Department to inspect
incident that had occurred earlier that day.
call at 7:10 A.M. at City Hall.
Once I got to City Hall, I discovered that a vehicle had
driven up on the south lawn and had proceeded to turn several
"donuts" on the saturated turf as well as destroying a locust
tree in the boulevard.

I immediately began to assess the damages done so that I
could give a preliminary figure to the police as to the extent of
the vandalism. It was determined that the following damages will
have to be restored:
New sod (120'X 210') laid @ $2/yd.
One Imperial Locust planted (3.5")
Irrigation damage (Unknown at this time)
TOTAL DAMAGES AT THIS TIME
$5,600.00
400.00
?
$6,000.00
Obviously, we won't know the extent of the irrigation damage
until such time as we can turn the water on and test the system.
There does appear to be some damage to some heads but we don't
know if they have to be replaced or not.
I would hope that this expense could be recovered from the
suspect or from his auto insurance. As you are aware, my entire
vandalism repair budget is only $5,000 which won't even cover
this incident.
