PRESENTATION - STATUS REPORT ON CITY OF PRIOR LAKE
Y2K EFFORTS
Historv
On November 2,1998 the City Council was presented a report as to
how theiCity of PrrorLake would be handling the year 2000 concerns.
This also included the appointment of Larry Dushek, MIS Coordinator
as the City's Y2K Coordinator.
The League of Minnesota Cities provided to each Minnesota city an
action guide for cities to follow in preparing for the year 2000. This
comprehensive guide is titled "A Year 2000 Action Guide," and
contains comprehensive sections on the following: the problem;
organization of city efforts; inventory; assessment & vendor contact;
fixes and testing; contingency planning; liability & contracts; LMCIT
coverage; Media & Community Relations; and n~wsletters, articles,
and resources. Prior Lake has been using this guide as our template.
We have made considerable progress in addressing this issue and
would like to share a status report with the city council and public on
this important topic.
Current Circumstances
Assistant City Manager Bret VVoodson will be making a presentation to
the City Council on city efforts to date and what lies ahead in terms of
preparing for the year 2000.
