CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
JULY 19, 1999
4H
JANET RINGBERG, LICENSE CLERK
CONSIDER APPROVAL OF TEMPORARY 3.2 NON-
INTOXICATING LIQUOR LICENSE FOR THE MB
SOFTBALL CLUB
Current Circumstances
The MB Softball Club of Prior Lake is requesting a temporary 3.2 non-
intoxicating liquor license in order to sell 32 beer at a men's softball
tournament they will be hosting on Saturday, July 24, 1999 and
Sunday, July 25, 1999 at Ponds Park. They would like to sell 3.2 beer
during the tournament which will run from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
on Saturday and 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. This is the first
time this softball club has requested a temporary liquor license.
The Issues
The MB Softball Club has completed the application, paid the
temporary 3.2 liquor license fee of$25.00 and provided the City with
proof of dramshop insurance for this event. The Prior Lake Police
Department has completed an investigation of this organization and
has found no reason to deny the license.
The City Council has the following alternatives:
1. Adopt a motion as part of the consent agenda approving the
temporary 3.2 non-intoxicating liquor license for MB Softball Club.
2. Deny the temporary 3.2 non-intoxicating liquor license request.
Staff recommends Council approve the temporary 32 non-intoxicating
liquor license for MB Softball Club for Saturday, July 24, 1999 and
Sunday, July 25, 1999.
