Police Chief O'Rourke has requested time on this agenda to

recently involved with the saving of a life.
During the evening of July 15, 1999, Officers Maureen O'Hehir and
Wade Erickson responded to the Dakota Convenience Store on the
report of a man choking. Upon arrival they observed the victim to be
unresponsive. The officers worked to clear the airway obstruction

The victim was transported via ambulance to the hospital. He was
told by the doctors that the officers had saved his life.

presented with the Chiefs Award of Merit for their exceptional
professional skill which has resulted in outstanding community service
and brought credit to the Prior Lake Police Department.
The victim, Dennis Thelen and his family will also be present to say
