DISCUSSION: History At its April 17, 1999, meeting the City Council approved a request to declare three vehicles; a 1985 Chevrolet Blazer, a 1990 Accura Integra, and a 1985 Honda Shadow motorcycle, as surplus to City needs and authorized the disposal of same. The Council will recall that these vehicles had been acquired through various forfeitures set forth in State Statute, including, as a result ofDWI enforcement efforts. As per ordinance, the vehicles were advertised in the Prior Lake American and sealed bids were accepted until 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May II, 1999. A front page article also appeared highlighting the disposal of this equipment. Current Circumstances Six bids were received for the Blazer, and two bids were submitted for both the Accura and Honda motorcycle. The high bids are as follows: $1,688.00 for the Blazer $ 220.00 for the Accura $ 555.00 for the Honda ISSUES: Each of these pieces of equipment is in poor condition. The Blazer runs but will not pass an emission test. It also appears to have suspension problems. The Accura is driveable, but in poor condition overall. The motorcycle has not been started for over three years. The "Blue Book" estimates the vehicles in 'fair' condition to be valued at $2,600.00 for the Blazer, $1,915.00 for the Accura, and $1,200.00 for the motorcycle. I believe the bids reflect the current condition of the equipment. 16200 Eagle Creek Ave. S.E., Prior Lake. Minnesota 55372-1714 / Ph. (612) 447-4230 / Fax (612) 447-4245 AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
