Consider Approval of Resolution 89-06 Adopting Agreement to Receive Portable Breath Tester From the Department of Public Safety The state of Minnesota, Department of Public Safety, recently notified Police Chief Powell that the City of Prior Lake has been selected to be the recipient of an Alco Sensor Portable Breath Tester (PBT), courtesy of the Department of Public Safety on a loan basis at no cost to the City. One of the stipulations to receiving this PBT is that the City Council approve a resolution to enter into an agreement with the Department of Public Safety for the purpose of receiving the PBT for use by law enforcement officers to assist in the detection of motorists who may be in violation of Minnesota Statutes. Staff recommends approval of Resolution 89-06 (copy attached) to accept the PBT on a loan basis from the Department of Public Safety.
