8:00 p.m. 6. Public Hearing on 1990 Proposed Municipal Budget
The 1990 Municipal Budget has been scheduled for a
public hearing at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 20.
Staff has been made aware that the attendance at
this public hearing may be greater than previous
hearings on the budget. The reason for this is
citizen's concern and interest in the public
hearing notice which appeared in the Minneapolis
paper on Thursday, November 9. In light of this,
staff is recommending that the hearing begin with
an introduction to the 1989 tax legislation and
its impact on Prior Lake. In short, staff will
attempt to explain to the public the actions of the
legislature. Following that, it would be
appropriate for the City Council to review details
of the budget. Councilmember Larson will be absent
on November 20. Staff anticipates receiving
Council direction on selected items on the budget
for further review and analysis. A tentative date
has been established for the continuation of the
hearing (December 4, 1989 8:00 p.m.) if the
Council so chooses to extend the discussion.
