I received your revised La~efront Plaza drawings.
1. The ADA dra~inq blowups have an incorrect scale associated with
them.
~he grades in ~he blowups are over 2%.
2. The rip rap drawing is still incorrect.
3. The site plan doeS not show the l~qhting and the architectural
drawings
do not include a site plan.
4. Check with Mechanical on the lawn irrigation. The Mechanical
drawings
show the lawn irrigation separating from the service line. ~ou had told
me
that the lawn irrigation WaS corning from the building.

Following are the results of the plumbing and mechanical plan Teview for the Lakefront
Plaza project. Our review was based. on the Minnesota State Building Code (MSBC)
which adopted with amendments the 1997 Uniform Building Code CUBC) and the 1991
Uniform Mechanical Code (UMC)..
1. Submit a mechanical permit application. Wenzel Plumbing has applied for a Plumbing
permit.
2. Sht M-1.0 note: change 7'-0" dimension to g'-O" high by 12'-0" wide_
3. Detail 7fM3.0: The lawn irrigation meter is considered a site-owned meter. The lawn
irrigation. me~e:r will no~. be suppli.ed by the city. The city will not provide a separa~~
water bill for this meter. The meter must also be located after the city supplied
domestic water meter.
4. Provide fuestopping documentation for the plumbing membrane penetrations (plastic
waste pipe. laundry box). UBC 703.
5. Provide f1restopping documentation for the mechanical penetrations (exhaust fan,
exhaust fan duct, dryer vent, and dryer duct. UBC 703.
6. Detail IIM3.I: Bathroom exhausts and dryer exhausts must be in a shaft or run
horizontally to the exterior in the floor system. UBC 711.3
7. Highl low transfer ducts shall have a flame-spread index' of not more than 25 and a
smoke-developed raring of not more.than 50. UMC 1002.
8. Elevator lobbies require smoke dampers in duct penetrations. UBC 713.0 #5.

designer. Approval is contingent upon satisfactory disposition of any requirements included in this ~port.

INSPECTIONS: All plumbing insta.llations must. be tested and inspected in accordance \ll'iEh Ute requirements of
the Minnesota. Plumbing Codt. As specified in Minnesota Rules. part 4715.2.830. no plumbing work may be
(;OVefed prior to completing the tequired tests and inspections. Provisions must be made fOt applying an air test
at the time of the rougbillg-in iDspection as outlined m Minnesota Rules. pan 4115.2820, subpa.rr 2. of the code.
A manCJ:O:l,eter test, as specified in Minnesota. Rules, part 4715.2820, subpan 3, is required at the time of the
finished plumbing inspection- It is the responsibility of the contfactor/installer to notify the Minnesora
DepartmeDt of Health when an installation for a stare c:ontrac~ job, licensed facility, or project in an area where
there is no local administra.tive authority is ready far an inspection and test. To scbedule inspections, contact the

REQUlREMENT(S):
. 1. Elevator pit drains mUSl discha.rge to the sanitary sewer through an indirect c:onnectlOD whic:h precludes the
possibiJiry of sewage backup into the pit. The waste pipe from the sump shill dit::chnrgc to a fix.ture that is
trapped and vented (see Minnesota. R.ules, part 47l5.1305).
2. Th~ conlinon veoted double lavatories must connect at 11 ve;:rtical drain. AD individual vent, installed
vertically, may be used as il. CgmmoD vent for similar fIXtUres when both fi~ture drains connect with a
vertical drain at the same level (see Minnesota Rules, pan 4715.2580. subpart 1). Addendum. No.1 shows
thl'lse fixtures connecting together prior to the venical dr41n and vent.

The installation of a cross-link polyethylene (PBX) tubing system was specified for the water distribution ,.r
system. A PBX tubing system cannot be used unless it meets all of the following requirements: L{~(///Ui'

a. Approval for the installation of the PEX systeJu must be obtained from the proper administrative
authority prior to installation.
b. The system must comply with ASTM Standard F877 and F876.
c. The system must be installed by a plumber trained by the manufactureI' of tbe panicular PEX system to
be installed. Certain maoufacmrers require installation by licensed plumbcls who have been trained to
insr.all their material.
d. All persons installing PEX materials shall have a ciII'd on their possession documenting completion of
training by the manufacturer or his a.g=t fot the material [0 be installed.
e. All components must be part of one specific PEX manufactun:r' -5 system. and must bear the
identific:ation mark of that manufacturer. The PBX system must have IAPMO and NSP approval and
marking ofIAPMO approval must be swnped on tubing and fittings.
f. The install.ation must be in a.cc:ordan,e with the manufacturer's installation guidelines.

135 Roof Louver features 14" diameter opening, aluminum
screen, and a weathershielding rain guard formaximum weather
protection. Available in black, brown, white or weathered bronze
baked enamel finish, as well as mill finish.
600 Series and Model 550 feature aluminum construction, 8 x 8
perma-coated aluminum screen extended to the edges of the
cap, large nailing flange and rolled flange on vent stack to prevent
weather infiltration. Available in black, brown, white or wea-
thered bronze baked enamel finish as well as mill finish. 600-D is
a twin 600.
ModeI600-S, designed for shake roofs, has a tall throat to allow
plenty of room for air circulation after the installation of shakes.

700 Series have three sides open for maximum air circulation,
heavy gauge aluminum construction, fits on all roofs, 770-D is a
twin 770 unit. The 730, 750 and 770 are available in black, brown,
white or weathered bronze baked enamel finish, as well as mill
finish.
800 Series are a new addition to Lomanco's line of roof louvers.
They are modeled after the 700 Series and are manufactured out
of durable ASS plastic with U.V. protection for longer life. Large
nailing flange for easy installation. The 8 x 8 perma-coated
screen extends to the edges of the dome to protect from bird and
insect intrusion. They are available in gray, brown, black orwhite.
Model 865-S, designed for shake roofs, has a tall throat to allow
plenty of room for air circulation after the installation of shakes.

VENTILATORS
Exhaust ventilators such as ridge line ventilators must be
used in conjunction with intake vents for proper operation. In-
take vents are found on page 8. The air will flow thru the attic
from bottom to top to keep your attic cooler and drier.
