RE-CAP SUMMER PROGRAMS FROM 2007, AUTUMN GATHERING
(OCTOBER), AND FALL RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS
The 2007 Summer Recreation Programs were a blast! We had great
enrollment in our staple programs; tot lot and playground as well as
Wilderness Day Camp and the Fire Safety Camp, which collectively
served over 550 kids. The Summer Supremo continues to be a great hit
with the community with participation of over 75 kids. We had a wait list of
over 15 kids for this event. We plan to offer more Summer Supremos next
year to accommodate more kids. We enhanced our beach party this year
and had a couple hundred participants, which was a huge success and
the weather was perfect. Next year you can look forward to the return of
water skiing lessons, sports camps and tennis lessons, among other
planned day trips.
This fall the Park & Recreation Department of Prior Lake will be offering
several fun and exciting activities to the community. The purpose of this
presentation is to share information about each with the Council and our
viewing audience.
On October Sthfrom 1:45 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. we will be having our annual
Autumn Gathering at Lakefront Park. New this year we will be having a
1 mile walk to promote Wellfit in the community at 1 :45 p.m. We will have
crafts, Hermy the Clown, inflatables, wagon rides and pony rides. There
will also be kettle corn, cookies, and hot cider/chocolate. This event is
free and will be fun for all ages and families. Don't forget to bring your
camera.
Kids can trick or treat at City Hall this year on October 31st from 8am-
4pm. During the Minnesota Education Association (MEA) break (October
17 - 19) the Parks and Recreation Department will be offering the
following activities:
October 17 = Gameworks
October 18 = Vertical Endeavors; and
October 19 = Horse back riding in Carver
Each of these events requires pre-registration. To register go online to
www.priorlakesavagece.com or stop by the City Hall Monday through
Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The registration deadlines for these
activities are Wednesday, October 10th.

We even have a couple of events already scheduled for November: Pump
It Up (which is an indoor gym with many inflatables to jump around in)
and a Little Red Riding Hood production for the tots. In December we
have a trip to see High School Musical on Ice which should be very
popular. We will be planning events for the holiday and spring breaks.
Keep an eye out in the local papers, at the schools and of course on the
City website at www.citvofpriorlake.com for upcoming events.
If you have any suggestions or questions you can call Park and
Recreation at 952-447-9820.
