Historv The bylaws for the City Council's various advisory bodies provide that the terms of advisory body members expire on October 31. Advisory body members are subject to a term limit as well to encourage new persons to be come involved in the advisory committee process. Incumbents who have not yet reached their term limit were asked to reapply. We also placed notices in the Prior Lake American, the Wavelength, the Newswire and on the Website. Current Circumstances Below is a table showing the vacancies on each advisory committee, the interview teams for each body and the candidates interviewed. "Appointment - The Committee shall consist of no more than seven (7) members and no less than five (5) members, appointed by the Prior Lake City Council for a term of three (3) years from November 1 to October 31. The Committee shall be representative of the citizens who live in Prior Lake. Committee members may serve based upon attendance and participation, continued residence in Prior Lake and in accordance with the term limit policy established by the City Council. " Due to the experience and interest level of the candidates recommended for appointment, the interview committee suggests that membership be increased to six. The Communications Advisory Committee was established in 2006 with two citizen members. Bret Borth resigned from the committee due to his relocation out of the area causing a vacancy on that committee. Rather than considering this appointment to the Communications Advisory Committee to complete the term of Mr. Borth, it is recommended the vacancy be filled with a complete three-term to October 31, 2010. The other citizen member's term will expire on October 31, 2009, thus staggering the renewal dates for members on the Communications Advisory Committee. The resolution for the Communication Advisory Committee appointment will be submitted to the Council on Friday since interviews are scheduled for Thursday night. Dan Ringstad and Alan Billington's terms on the Planning Commission are in accordance with the bylaws. ALTERNATIVES: 1. Adopt the resolutions making the appointments in accordance with the recommendations of the interview committees. 2. Adopt the resolutions with modifications. 3. Take no action. I currently working as a senior engineering designer for a company in Bloomington, MN called Food Systems Design, which is a consulting food engineering company. Being part of a consulting design company, I work on many different kinds of projects and with many different clients. I have done civil, mechanical, structural, hvac, piping, and process design work. I have a AAS. degree in mechanical design & drafting and a AA degree in Liberal education from Normandale Community College I like to volunteer to be a baseball coach each year. I have three children, so we have many ties to the school system in Prior Lake.
