Part of the report proposed the creation of a task force. The task force was to include representatives from five stakeholder groups as recommended by the Jacob Wetterling Foundation including: . Parents, grandparents, caregivers . Schools, faith based, civic and daycare . Law enforcement and legal · Public policy makers at various levels . Corporations Notices were placed in the local newspapers and on the City Website. ISSUES: This Council-created task force is a positive and proactive way to address safe and healthy community issues. Although its composition follows the recommendations of the Jacob Wetterling foundation, it is breaking new ground in many ways. To assist us in accomplishing our objectives, Nancy Sabin has offered to act as an advisor to this project. The chair of the task force is expected to be recruited from the membership. Of others wish to join the task force as we proceed, it would be our intention to welcome them unless the City Council directs otherwise. FINANCIAL Because the ultimate work products are not known at this time, the total cost of IMPACT: this project cannot be calculated. Status reports will be presented to the City Council to assure that costs are known before they are committed to. ALTERNATIVES: 1.
