RE: Lot 41, Block 1, The Woods At The Wilds
Dear Mr. Poppler:
A home is proposed to be constructed on subject lot by Johnson - Reiland Construction.
Due to the lot's proximity to a storm water basin located south of the property, it has been
required to investigate the possible presence of groundwater at or above the proposed
foundation.
The proposed lot has been cut to grade and thus the foundation would be on native soil.
The proposed low floor elevation is 1003.0
During the week of May 2, 2005, a foundation excavation on adjacent lot 42, down grade
to the east, was observed. There was no indication of groundwater in this excavation,
which was approximately 8-10 feet lower than that which is proposed on lot 41. Also, an
observation pit was excavated near the southeast comer of the proposed home on lot 41.
The pit was excavated on May 5, 2005 before noon, to elevation 1001.0, approximately.
The pit was observed on May 6, 2005. There was no trace of groundwater seepage in the
observation pit. No gravel or sand lenses were observed in the excavation.
Based on these observations, it is my opinion that perched groundwater does not exist in
the vicinity of the proposed foundation, at the elevation of 1001.0
