Please look over the attached and let's discuss. Sprint-Nextel proposes to build an 80 foot tower, same height as light poles and remove antennas from the light pole (and remove shelter) once the tower and new shelter are complete. Sprint-Nextel would like to discuss this further with the School District and th~ Ci1y of Prior Lake so that Sprint- Nextel can move forward with preparing a lease amendment and the final construction drawings (in order to move forward with the School District and the City's zoning process). Although the City has a zoning height limit of 65 feet, Sprint-Nextel's antennas are currently at 80 feet and the network requires this height at the site. Sprint- Nextel would like to try to work with the City on the height issue and as such have asked me to present this proposal to you for review and comment. Is this something we can make work at this site? Let's talk further about this when you have a chance. I also know that any proposals that Sprint/Nextel has for additional antennas or modification to this structure must be made formally to the school district and they must also go through site plan & building permit review and approval at the City of Prior Lake. However, Sprint/Nextel has asked me to contact you to ask you the following: 1. Does the City of Prior Lake have any information on the original installation of the light standard - namely the foundation and pole drawings? If the City does, can Sprint/Nextel get copies? 2. Would the City allow Sprint/Nextel to modify the light standard? The modification would likely involve welding steel channels to the pipe, adding angles at the base plate, and depending on what info Sprint/Nextel might get on the foundation - modifying the foundation. Or, would the City allow Sprint/Nextel to replace it with a slightly sturdier one, in the same area (provided it met the height restrictions the City has in place)? Please give me a call or e-mail me with your response. As always, Sprint/Nextel would like to get an answer as soon as they can. Attn: Mike Whittington 9219 East River Road NW Coon Rapids, MN 55433 Subject: Communications Tower/Light pole - Nextel Site MN0127 15860 Fishpoint Road Prior Lake, MN 55372 Dear Mr. Whittington, I understand Nextel - Sprint is proposing to place three (3) additional communications antennas and the addition of equipment inside the existing shelter adjacent to the existing tower/light pole, at the above referenced site address. My understanding is this does not increase the height of the existing structure, and does not require the construction of any additional structures. Based on these criteria, the placement of the additional antennas does not require any building permits or other review by the City. Please feel free to contact me at 952-447-9812 ifthere are any additional questions.
