RE: Home Occupation Sign Permit
Dear Mr. Harte,
On August 15, 1997 the Planning Department received an application for a sign permit
for you home occupation located at 14964 Pixie Point Circle. I have enclosed sections
from the Sign Code 5-7. Section 5-7-10 lists prohibited signs. Item G specifically
prohibits home occupation signs. Therefore, the sign on your residence identifying your
home occupation as "Prior Lake Conference Center" must be removed immediately.
Section 5 - 7 -17 describes procedure for you to appeal the interpretation of the Planning
Department. The fee for an appeal is $75.00. If you appeal, the Planning Commission
and City Council will determine if the Zoning Officer's interpretation regarding your sign
is appropriate or erroneous.
Please remove your sign within 10 days. A re-inspection will be conducted in 10 days. If
the sign is not removed by then, formal enforcement action will be taken. Section 5-7-20
lists enforcement and remedies that may be taken to eliminate this violation.
We appreciate you cooperation in resolving this issue. Please call me if you have any
