City Manager Meyer , Police Chief O’Rourke , Asst. City Manager Meyer , City Council Liaison Erickso n. Call To Order: Chair Spitzmueller called the meeting to order at 4: 1 0pm. Approval of Agenda MOTION BY HADLEY, SECOND BY GERTNER, to approve the agenda as presented. VOTE: Ayes by Spitzmueller, Alcorn, Jader, Hadley, Gertner, and Dougherty. Approval of Minutes of the February 11 , 20 10 Meeting To be presented for next meeting. Old Business: Update on City Council Presentation Spitzmueller: Advised that the Council approved the committee’s report at its last Council meeting, as well as its goals and objectives for 2010. Further advised that there was some comment by the Mayor regarding a recent news article related to the prevention of sexually transmitted disease. O’Rourke: Commented that the article actually reported that the statistics show a do wnward trend rather than an increasing problem. Hadley: Asked if the committee wished to add a bullet to its objectives. O’Rourke: Suggested that before the committee takes on another issue, that it be discussed as part of reconvening the Task Force. The re are already a lot of priorities identified by the Task Force that are yet to be addressed. Committee agreed with that approach. No formal action required. 2010 Objectives There was general discussion about each of the issues areas , how to make pro gress on the objectives , and development of a work plan in order to move some of the initiatives forward.
