CALL TO ORDER: The Lake Advisory Committee meeting was called to order on Wednesday, June 15, 1994 at 7:38 p.m. Members present were: Chair Jody Stroh, Bill Packer and John Wingard. City staff present was Water Resources Coordinator Lani Leichty. Members absent were: Tom Watkins and Peter Patchin. 2. CONSIDER APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING: MOTION BY WINGARD, SECONDED BY STROH, TO APPROVE THE MAY 18, 1994 MINUTES. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. 3. PIKE LAKE PETITION UPDATE:LAC members discussed what action to take concerning the petition. Petitioner Chuck Pavlish and other concerned residents plan to attend the July 20, 1994 LAC meeting to provide input to the Committee as to what problems are occurring on Pike Lake. The Committee decided that they would hear out the residents disposition and pass on a recommendation to the City Council. 4. WORK PROGRAM FOR WATER RESOURCES COORDINATOR: MOTION BY PACKER, SECONDED BY WINGARD, TO ACCEPT THE WORK PROGRAM AS IS. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. There was discussion about getting a newsletter out to lake residents concerning water quality. Chair Stroh volunteered to contact the Prior Lake American about getting a news segment in the paper pertaining to water quality. 5. SURFACE WATER ORDINANCE UPDATE: Leichty mentioned that he would contact Scott County about getting a lake violation report from the Sheriff. 6. PRIOR LAKE PUBLIC ACCESSES: The LAC made plans to tour Prior Lake on Wednesday, June 29, 1994 at 5:30 p.m. to visually inspect and inventory all platted public accesses. The information gathered from this tour will be used as part of the preliminary report and findings to be provided to City Council. 7. OTHER BUSINESS: Chair Stroh mentioned that Jerry Mysembourg of the Prior Lake/Spring Lake Watershed District had contacted her about the LAC becoming more of a fact finding committee in relationship to the Eurasian Milfoil problem. Stroh will contact the District to further clarify what direction and specifics should be taken. 8. ADJOURNMENT: The meeting of the LAC was adjourned at 8:26 p.m. Respectfully submitted, ~~. On June 29, 1994 at 5:30 P.M. the members and any interested parties will tour the lake for the purpose of inventorying the accesses and allow visual inspections to be made. The information gathered from the tour will be used as part of the preliminary report and findings to be provided to the City Council on August 1, 1994. The final report and recommendations are scheduled to be provided to the Council on September 19,1994.
