The event is intended to provide an opportunity for neighbors to become better acquainted to more effectively deter criminal activity in the neighborhood. .Woody provided the current list of neighborhood parties as registered with the city parks and recreation. Linda volunteered to assemble a PDF summary of committee actions for use by members attending local parties. The CSAC reviewed the door hangers prepared by the PLPD to alert home owners that they have left their garage door open overnight. This change will be announced in the Prior Lake American alerting residents of this safety measure. Lt Hofstad indicated the garage door hangers will be available in July and displayed at the Community Fest in September. The CSAC and SVAVW (Mary Ann) are in agreement that the event at Lakefront Park sponsored for the last 2 years which is used to raise awareness and solicit funding for SVABW is poorly attended and may not be worth the effort expended. As an alternative the committee discussed a table and display using the Clothesline Project at the fall Community Fest. Mary Ann Bigaouette, Director at SVABW in Belle Plaine will attend the August meeting. Discussed the idea of establishing a Facebook page for the CSAC, and will determine if the committee can piggyback on the city’s FB page. Lt Hofstad reported that Shakopee does not have an equivalent safety advisory body.. Meeting adjourned at 5:20PM.
