FilE COpy April 15, 1999 Barb Hopson 14438 Watersedge Trail Prior Lake, MN 55372 RE: Proposed Front Entry Addition Dear Barb, The purpose of this letter is to provide a summary of our meeting on Tuesday, April 13, 1999. Your inquiry regarding a new front entry (approximately 50 square feet) will be place below the regulatory flood protection elevation of 909.9 in order to "match" with the existing entry area. This will be allowed as you are not increasing the flood damage potential to the existing structure. The addition will be permitted with the following conditions: · Survey must be provided indicating lowest existing and proposed floor elevations. Existing and proposed impervious surface must be shown. If you are currently over 30%, you cannot increase the amount of impervious surface. You can however, maintain what is existing by removing a portion of impervious surface equal to the proposed addition in impervious surface. · All new electrical outlets must be at or above an elevation of 909.9. · Materials used in constructing the entry addition must be of water resistant materials. This includes treated timber, ceramic tile flooring, and greenboard sheetrock. · The total amount of structural additions to date has been $25,200. The proposed addition o.L will be limited to 50% of the assessed value of the structure. The 1997 assessed value was 106,100. As long as your proposed permit valuation is less than $27,850, then the entire house will not have to be floodproofed. I hope this clarifies our position on your proposal. These comments are based on the partial 10' by 10' proposed entry addition and do not constitute an approval of any kind. Once a completed application is received including a survey and structural plan, a complete review can be conducted. Final approval will be granted upon the issuance of a building permit.
