SUBJ: Minutes from 75-10 Meeting
DATE: June 17, 1975
The Park Board held meeting 75-10 at the City Hall on June 12, 1975 at
7:30 P.M. Members present were; Arnold, Devitt, Kalton, Williams.
Absent were; Patchin. ~uests were; Mayor Stock and M. McGuire. Tempor-
ary chairperson Williams called meeting to order.
I. Lake Front Park
A. Snowmobile Trail Signs - McGuire reported that the snowmobile
signs, in the Park, have Ween removed. "Park Snowmobile Trail
- Police Patrolled" signs would cost approximately $15.00 each
{18" × 24" laminated wood}.
B. Cambridge - Kortsch Drive Parking Lot - Erosion Problem - Arnold
reported that the erosion problem into the pond has worsen with
the recent rains. If left unattended too much longer, the road
will wash away.
M/S/P Kalton/Arnold - Request City Street Dept. to complete cir-
cle from Kortsch Drive to Cambridge Road.
Williams to present request to City Street Dept. Arnold to
check with DNR to see what type of support they may provide in
restoration of duck habitat areas (such as in Cambridge-Kortsch
Drive area}.
C. Hiking Trail Plan - Tooker presented trail way system within
Park area. It was indicated that the DNR recommends immediate
attention be given to the park trail system. Tooker presented
seven year development plan of the activity area with estimated
costs. See attachment.
M/S/P Kalton/Devitt - Authorize VFW to erect flag pole and
flower bed near parking lot number 3. VFW to present beautifi-
cation program plans to Park Board for approval prior to imple-
mentation. Flower bed should not exceed a 25 ft. radius.
M/S/P Arnold/Kalton - Proceed with trail way system through the
Park (as presented by Tooker) when funds are available. The
trail system through the activity area should be 8 ft. wide
blacktop to provide for service vehicle access. The trail sys-
tem in the non-activity area should be 4 ft. wide blacktop.
Blacktop was recommended to provide ease of Use for handicap
people.
Mayor Stock to relay information on the park trail system plan
to the VFW. The VFW has shown interest in funding part of the
trail system.
M. McGuire to distribute a copy of Tooker's trail system to all
Park Board members.
D. Location of Road & Utilities to Parking Lot No. i - The road to
parking lot number i had to be relocated eastward so it was not
on private property. The water line along this road has to be
lowered.
D. McGuire inquired if there was any questions on the financial
statement memo he had distributed to all members after the
May 22nd meeting. He emphasized that t~]Te $10, 000~ []0 per year
for development was adopted by the Mayor and City Council.
