AGENDA
Traffic Safety Committee
October 19th, 2005
3:15 pm
Action Items from last meeting:
Brad/PW to install signs at Wilds Ridge, Lime Rd/Center Rd and Cedarwood Trail
Brad to
review the Forsythe area and recommend any changes to the street sign location if possible.
Steve and Mak to check with Al on policy of using “Leash/Pick Up” signs along trails.
Steve
to check on development requirements for stop sign placement to be consistent with resident requests.
Larry to put blurb in next recon newsletter letting residents know “No Parking”
signs are recommended on the house side of Fish Point Road and wait for feedback. DONE
New Issues:
Wilds Lane NW/Sterling South (Private Street)-“No Outlet” sign is in confusing location,
can it be moved? No sign was posted on Wilds Lane. Would recommend sign at entrance of Wilds Lane at Wilds Parkway.
17151 Horizon Trail SE-Speeding down the hill is a problem. Can
we have more police enforcement? Speed humps? Children at Play signs? Would recommend more police enforcement.
Crosswalk at Five Hawks- Doesn’t like location of crosswalk. Cars are
parking at “No Parking” signs and creating dangerous crossing. “No Parking This Block” signs are posted on the west side of Five Hawks in front of the school. May need additional enforcement
when kids are heading to and from school.
CR 44-Speed limit is too fast. Eastbound lanes: 45 mph at Franklin Trail and 50 mph after Fish Point Road. Westbound lanes: 50 mph before
Prior Lake, 45 mph at Prior Lake city limits, 35 mph before Franklin Trail. Speed limits are set by the State.
Wildhorse Pass-Speeding through street @ 40mph. No path/sidewalk
for children, no speed limit signs. There is a center island east of Crane Court. See traffic counts.
Deerfield:
Requesting “No Outlet” sign at end of Fish Point Road (before Oak Point Dr E & W) No thru street after Pondsedge Lane. “No Outlet” sign would not appear to diminish
traffic already on Fish Point Road.
Requesting 3 way stop sign at Marshfield/Deerfield and 2 20 mph speed limit signs on Marshfield. Association will pay for sign and installation
to be done by association. Just would like recommendation of location and sign type. Other streets in development have stop signs on intersecting streets (i.e. Deerfield Cir and Deerfield
Lane). Would recommend putting stop sign on Marshfield, but not on Deerfield Drive. Recommend putting 20 mph speed limit signs at both ends of Marshfield.
Oak Street-Speeding around
corner. See traffic counts.
