LAKES ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
March 18, 2014
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 4:30 pm. Present were Acting LAC Chair Jasan, LAC members
Streefland, Shower, and Rech, Councilor McGuire, City Water Resources Engineer Young, and
Prior Lake-Spring Lake Watershed District Outreach Specialist Litsey.
OFFICER ELECTIONS
Acting Chair Jasan opened nominations from the floor for the position of LAC Chair , 2-year term.
Member Jasan was nominated for LAC Chair by Member Streefland. There were no other
nominations for LAC Chair.
ACTING CHAIR JASAN CALLED FOR A VOTE ON THE POSITION OF LAC CHAIR.
VOTE: Ayes by Streefland, Shower, Rech, and Jasan. Jasan elected Chair of the LAC.
Acting Chair Jasan opened nominations from the floor for the position of Vice-Chair, 1-year term.
Member Weninger was nominated for LAC Vice-Chair by Member Rech. There were no other
nominations for Vice-Chair.
ACTING CHAIR JASAN CALLED FOR A VOTE ON THE POSITION OF LAC VICE-CHAIR.
VOTE: Ayes by Streefland, Shower, Rech, and Jasan. Weninger elected Vice-Chair of the LAC.
OLD BUSINESS
Lake Friendly Program
Water Resources Engineer Young presented the agenda report. LAC members completed the
2014 Neighborhood Park Parties sign-up sheet. Lake Friendly program materials were presented,
including some new brochures. Presentation item only, no votes were taken.
Community Outreach Opportunities
Water Resources Engineer Young presented the agenda report. Presentation item only, no votes
were taken.
Marina Task Force Update
Water Resources Engineer Young presented information provided by Vice-Chair Weninger.
Presentation item only, no votes were taken.
OTHER BUSINESS
Member Rech expressed interest in having someone present on Zebra Mussels to the LAC at a
future meeting. There were no other business items discussed.
STAFF UPDATE
Planning Commission Update
Water Resources Engineer Young presented an update on the activities of the Planning
Commission. Items reviewed by the Planning Commission on 3/17/14 included a project at the
Twin Oaks Middle School, a concept plan for the Meadowlawn development near Lower Prior
Lake, and a sign ordinance amendment. There were no other staff updates. Presentation item
only, no votes were taken.
NEW BUSINESS
Prior Lake-Spring Lake Watershed District Presentation
Prior Lake-Spring Lake Watershed District (PLSLWD) Outreach Specialist Meghan Litsey presented
information on the 2014 PLSLWD Education Plan. Presentation item only, no votes were taken.

Regular Meeting: May 20, 2014, 4:30 pm, City Council Chambers
ADJOURNMENT
A motion to adjourn was made by Member Streefland and seconded by Member Rech. With all
in favor, the meeting adjourned at 5:25 pm.
