HomeMy WebLinkAbout10 08 15 CSAC MinutesCommunity Safety Advisory Committee 8 October 2015 Meeting Minutes Attending: Pat Dougherty, Woody Spitzmueller, Linda Ringstad, Janine Alcorn, Gina Gertner, PLPD Randy Hofstad, Councilor Annette Thompson Absent: Betsy Jader Meeting called to order at 5:05 pm by Pat. Approval of meeting Agenda: Motion by Woody, 2nd Pat Approval of August CSAC Minutes: Motion by Linda, 2nd by Pat Randy distributed the updated version of the PL city event policy, including application, insurance requirements and draft version of the new policy. Summary of discussion at the CSAC meeting follows: Council has not as yet approved the policy. CSAC suggests an amendment to remove specific service and civic organizations mentioned in the policy. Also believe that in a co-sponsoring arrangement the organizations should split cost of the event. Randy stated the council has agreed to move the date to the first week in August in order to book the carnival rides which generated lots of interest and revenue. Linda advised the group the selection of a High School representative for the committee has been muddied this year. The HS principal feels the position should be offered to other students (outside of the National Honor Society). But apparently there has been no student identified or volunteered for our group. Linda will follow up with the HS administration. The PD booth at 2015 community fest was visited by more than 200 people; very successful. Gina mentioned the school district needs volunteers for the Laker Blue Jean Ball Randy advised the group that speed limits along the stretch of Hwy 13 near 150th under construction are being very closely monitored.. Also stated that the staff liaison for CSAC will be Chief Elliot starting in January. Meeting Adjourned 5:30P, Motion Pat, 2nd Woody
