SUBJECT: July Meeting
DATE:
July 3, 1995
THERE WILL BE NO P.A.C. MEETING IN JULY
Staff is in the process of working on some of the items that were discussed at the
last couple P.A.C. meetings. These items include: Lakefront Park Master Plan,
Grainwood Crossing Shelter, Community Survey, Summer Programs, etc. Their
are no new items to report to the P.A.C. at this time that requires action. All of the
above items will be brought up for discussion at the August meeting when our new
Director is on board.
That's right, a new Parks and Recreation Director has been hired. His name is Paul
Hokeness. Paul has been working for the City of Burnsville for the past seven
years and has over 20 years of professional Parks and Recreation experience. He
will bring a tremendous amount of skill & knowledge to the Prior Lake Parks and
Recreation Department. We are anxiously awaiting the opportunity to start
working with Paul. His first official day with the city will be Monday, July 17th.
Between July 17th and our August P.A.C. meeting, Paul is going to try and meet
with each of the P.A.C. members individually.
Along with the above mentioned meetings with the P.A.C., Paul will be meeting
with local organizations and businesses to try and get acquainted with the
community needs and feelings about the Prior Lake Parks system. The information
that is gathered will help the P.A.C. in its efforts to work toward a new community
survey, enhancement & expansion of community parks, and many more endeavors
that lie ahead for the Parks and Recreation Department.
Have a good month of July, and I look forward to seeing you all at the August
meeting scheduled for Monday, August 14th from 7 :00 - 9:00 p.m. here at city hall.
If you have any questions in the interim, please give me a call at 447-4230.
