Approval of meeting Agenda: Motion to approve by Pat, 2nd by Linda; approval unanimous. 4. Approval of August meeting minutes: Motion to approve by Woody, 2nd by Gina; approval unanimous Approval of September meeting minutes: Motion to approve by Linda, , 2nd by Pat; approval unanimous 5. No hearings scheduled. 6. Presentation - none 7. Old Business: 7.a Committee acknowledged great job by Betsy Jader, who introduced the committee and goals, at the city council presentation of the DV month proclamation at the October council meeting. 7.b Sgt White discussed behavioral issues at the HS: - use of marijuana becoming an problem - txting/sexting also noted as problem among students - Sgt White mentioned use of ‘flakka’ which is a synthetic drug manufactured in China 7.c Sgt White discussed PD activity and suggested that CSAC members should contact her for opportunity to ride along on eve shift in PL squad car. 7.d Chief Steinhaus noted a public open house is planned at Fire Station #2 following the meeting. Also mentioned that SMSC donated a number of AED’s for use in PL fire and police vehicles. 8. New Business 8.a Committee reviewed goals/objectives for briefing to the full council at 20 November 2017 meeting. 8.b Gina noted that there is a new principal at the HS; may provide better access to student body.. 8.c Committee members were asked to think about chemical health initiatives for consideration at future meeting. 8d.
