Attached for your review and comment is the Conceptual Trail Plan
as des~gned by myself and Charlie Tooker. This Conceptual Trail
Plan lS just that---conceptual. However, it does provide staff
with a working tool in which to make presentations to the public,
Parks Advisory Committee, and city Council.
The Parks Advisory Committee met in session this past Wednesday
to go over the plan. Once they reviewed the plan and discussed
it, they did do some preliminar~ prioritizing as to phasing the
development. There first prlority was the trail development
along C.R. 44 from the high school to Hwy. 13, and Franklin Trail
from C.R. 44 to Hwy. 13. Once they understood that C.R. 44 is
scheduled for re-construction in 1992, they then decided to go
with their second priority---Erie Avenue from C.R. 21 to
Lakefront Park, all of Lakefront Park, and Franklin Trail from
C.R. 44 to Hwy. 13. That will be the recommendation to the City
Council at the April 15th meeting.
If you could please take the time to review this document and
have your comments back to me by Tuesday, April 9th, I will be
able to include them in my agenda report to the city Council.
Thank you for your assistance on this very important project.
